* We are Andy and Dandan Fisher. We hope you like our videos taken on our travels around the world and at home in the UK. All the videos are our own recordings or those of friends who have given permission.
* Andy founded the South Yorkshire Transport Society in the 1970's which has now developed into the South Yorkshire Transport Museum in Rotherham. For much of his life, Andy operated model shops in Doncaster, Sheffield and Lincoln.
* Dandan works as a translator and teaches Mandarin Chinese and English.
* Andy is a lifelong railway enthusiast. He met Dandan in 2003 alongside the JiTong Railway in Inner Mongolia, northern China. She was working as a part time English speaking tour guide and translator, as an extra to her full time work as an English teacher. We were married in 2005 and now live between Doncaster and Rotherham.

UK - Tangmere keeps perfect time to Scarborough Spa, 27 June 2024
Southern Railway Bulleid Battle of Britain class pacific, number 34067 "Tangmere", performed absolutely perfectly on The Scarborough Spa Express.
Fortunately, although it was quite windy at times, the weather also performed reasonably well for us.
With help from Dandan and my friend, Tom Evans, we managed a substantial record of Tangmere's operations around the York area. I hope you enjoy the video we captured.

UK - Braunton heads a Private Charter to York, 3rd June 2024

An unadvertised private charter was handled with no fuss at all by Bulleid pacific 34046 "Braunton" on 3rd June 2024. The charter started out in Crewe and ran to York with a midway pick-up point in Chester. The second camera was operated by Dandan and My friend, Tom Evans, supplied additional footage for which I am very grateful. Recorded on 3rd June 2024.

LNER class A4 pacific number 60007 "Sir Nigel Gresley" was back on its old stomping ground with the Steam Dreams charter from London Kings Cross to York and return. A sunny day, no wind and a Black 5 on the East Coast Mainline - what more could you want? We managed a full 13 minutes of steam action thanks to an easy timetable which allowed us to get ahead of the train. Black 5 number 44871 took charge of The White Rose from London to York and back on 24th February 2024.

LMS 4-6-0 number 46100 "Royal Scot" is on loan to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a period and made the light engine move from the Crewe Heritage Centre on 6th February 2024. We first caught the Scot At east Garforth near Leeds and then, courtesy of our friend Tom Evans, caught her again at Church Fenton, south of York. Recorded on 6th February, 2024.

LMS Royal Scot class 4-6-0 number 46100 "Royal Scot" took charge of The Christmas White Rose from Rugby to York and return. In appalling weather, we caught the Scot passing through Sheffield Midland Station with the charter train. "Royal Scot" is famous for having covered over 2300 miles during a visit to the USA in 1933. By way of a break from the normal routine, Dandan and I thought we would join some friends for a "Santa Ride" on the Ecclesbourne Railway in Derbyshire. The Lincoln Christmas Express was due to be headed by LMS Duchess 6233 "Duchess of Sutherland". However, a technical issue meant that the reliable Black 5 number 44871 had to take over. Thank you Tomas. On this private charter train every seat has dining facility. Some seats have better dining than others. The kitchen car is near the middle. The coach (car) immediately behind the loco is for the use of the loco staff. - Andy

I want to compare B17 Spirit of Sandringham to the original B17 locomotives
It should be identical apart from name and number. It's possible that it may have to be fitted with a hidden air pump and the shortage of coal could even mean that oil firing has to be installed. Those decisions cannot be made yet though - Andy

You had close to 5 mins of the loco before “the Gallery” even saw it… the master in rain and sun… The Brit climbing hard, blowing off and just after a round of coal . The fire and boiler management must have been spot on.

I greatly admire the efforts of rail preservation in Great Britain. You run them right out on the main line at speed mixed in with the modern trains. Seems as if a lot of very nice excursions take place here.
We're very lucky in the UK to have so many steam locos operating, both on the mainline and on private heritage lines - Andy
